Bluebird

Bluebird

I took a trip to Arcadia WMA in Easthampton, MA and spent an hour or so watching the Bluebirds come and go from their nesting boxes. The male was the tolerant of me, at times landing on a fence post less than 40 feet away. Taken handheld with Nikon 300mm f4 and 1.4tc © 2014 David Wornham Photography

Great Blue Heron

Great Blue Heron

Great Blue Heron drying off after eating breakfast. It had been raining all morning and the sky was still heavily overcast when I spotted him hunting for a meal in a small cove at Lake Ellis in Athol, MA. He emerged into the open after swallowing his catch and shook himself dry before taking flight across the lake. Taken handheld with D7100 and 300mm f4 +1.4tc © 2014 David Wornham Photography

Red-tailed Hawk

Red-tailed Hawk

For weeks I've been trying to get a portrait of a Red-tailed Hawk, today my patience paid off. I found this one along the edge of the highway in a small swamp in Phillipston, MA. This was taken from about 75 feet away handheld. © 2014 David Wornham Photography
