This photo was taken on the drive to South Point, on the Big Island of Hawaii. Though the original color photos were pretty, I really wanted to capture and express the spirit of the horses. So I removed the surrounding landscape as well as the color from the image. Then I bumped up the contrast and blurred and blended the edges of the horses with the white background, creating a softer, more ethereal atmosphere.
