A younger pair of Great Horned Owl (Bubo virginianus) nestlings than the ones I posted the other day, taken at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon, USA.

A willow sawfly (Nematus sp.) reared from a pupa I found. Sawflies are related to wasps and bees, although they do not sting. Their caterpillar-like larvae are voracious herbivores, and can be plant pests.
