Lioness in Naboisho Conservancy, Masai Mara, Kenya. This iconic, red-listed species is threatened and declining. At only 20,000-30,000 individuals left in the wild, this is a tenth of their numbers a century ago and it's getting worse.

Waiting for Death
A vulture waits patiently for a kill in the Mara. A picture taken on my visit to Kenya last year, just after I'd picked up a DSLR for the first time. I can't wait for my next opportunity to visit Africa! Happy Halloween!
